Privacy Policy
DrawLap has no accounts and never asks who you are. The game itself runs on your device. Two things do reach the outside world: the ads that pay for the free version, and — only if you switch it on — the online leaderboards.
What we never ask for
We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, calendar or location. There is no account, no login and no social sign-in. We do not sell or rent any data to anyone, ever.
What stays on your device
Your lap records, your ghost replays, your car setup, your daily streak, your purchases and your settings are stored only on your device, in the app's own storage. Deleting the app, or using Erase all progress in Settings, removes all of it permanently.
Advertising
The free version shows a short video ad when you choose to watch one in exchange for an extra drawing attempt. You are never shown an ad you did not ask for. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a Google service.
All ads in this game are non-personalised. Because the game is made to be safe for children, Google's advertising software is told to treat every player as a child: it does not use the advertising identifier to build a profile, and the ad you see is chosen from the content of the game rather than from anything about you. Ad content is limited to the equivalent of a "general audiences" rating — no gambling, no alcohol, no dating.
To pick and show an ad, Google's software still receives your approximate location derived from your IP address and technical information about your device, such as its model and operating system version. This happens inside Google's software, not ours: we never see it and we never store it.
What Google does with it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
You can still reset your advertising identifier at any time from your device settings — Settings → Google → Ads on Android, or Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on iOS. Buying No ads · Unlimited removes advertising from the app entirely.
Your choices about ads
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the first time the app is ready to show an ad it asks for your consent through Google's consent form. If you refuse personalised ads, you still get ads, but they are non-personalised: they are chosen from the content of the app rather than from a profile. You can change that choice later from the privacy options in the consent form.
On iOS the app never asks to track you, because it never does. DrawLap is made to be safe for children, so the advertising identifier is not used to build a profile of anyone, at any age, on any device. That is why you will not see the "Allow app to track" prompt.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed entirely by the App Store or Google Play. We never see and never receive your name, your card number or your billing address. All the app receives back is a yes-or-no answer about whether a purchase is valid, and that answer is stored on your device so your purchase survives a reinstall.
Online mode, and what it sends
Online is off unless you turn it on in Settings. With it on, the game sends anonymous gameplay statistics so the difficulty can be balanced:
- which track you raced, and with which car;
- your lap time, your finishing position, and where on the track you lifted your finger;
- which screens you opened, so we can see where people get stuck;
- a random identifier generated on your device, so returning players can be counted.
That identifier is a random number generated by the app itself. It is not the advertising identifier, it is not derived from your hardware, it is not linked to you, and it is not shared with anyone. It is deleted when you erase your progress, and a new one is generated if you turn Online on again.
This data is stored on Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the European Union.
Leaderboards
If you choose a leaderboard name, that name, your country flag, your best lap time and its ghost replay are sent so other players can race against it. The name you choose is shown publicly, so please do not use your real name. You can change or remove it at any time in Settings. There is no chat and no way for players to send each other messages.
How long we keep it
Ghost replays are erased 90 days after they are set, except for the ten fastest laps on each track, which are kept so there is always someone to race against. Lap times and gameplay statistics are kept until you ask us to delete them. Leaderboard entries are kept until you remove your name or ask us to remove them.
Children
DrawLap is made to be safe for children, and it is built that way rather than just labelled that way. Concretely:
- every ad is non-personalised, for every player, at every age — no profile is built from the advertising identifier;
- ad content is limited to a general-audiences rating;
- the app never asks permission to track anyone, and never tracks;
- there is no chat, no messaging between players, and no user-generated text other than the leaderboard name you type yourself;
- nothing that identifies a person is ever collected, from a child or from an adult.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 — nor from anyone else. If you are a parent and want anything removed, write to us at the address below and we will delete it.
The game is not published in the App Store Kids category, because that category does not allow the video ads that keep the game free. It carries an age rating suitable for all ages instead.
Your rights
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California or another region with similar laws, you have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to object to how it is used.
In practice: everything the app stores about you locally is removed by Erase all progress in Settings. For anything that has reached our servers, write to us at the address below with your leaderboard name, or with the random identifier shown under Online in Settings, and we will delete it within 30 days. We hold nothing that identifies you personally, so there is usually nothing to hand over — but we will tell you exactly what we have.
Our legal basis for gameplay statistics and leaderboards is your consent, which you give by turning Online on and which you can withdraw at any time by turning it off. We do not run personalised advertising, so there is no profile to consent to.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes what is collected, this page and the store privacy declarations will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be listed here with its date.
- 25 August 2026 — advertising (Google AdMob), in-app purchases and the consent flow are now described. The previous version of this page predated them. The game is now built for a child-safe audience: all advertising is non-personalised and no tracking permission is requested.
